Hi,

Not much point of calling here anymore, sold my Freelander for spare or repair. Took the car to my local Land Rover specialist and IMO was ripped off big style. Was diagnosed as the high pressure fuel pump, the garage that purchased the car fixed it for 100 quid and not the 1500 I was quoted. The fuel pump beside the filter was the guilty party. With winter soon upon us we are busy going through the Market looking for a replacement car which may be a Xtrail.
Be careful where your pride and joy and not all so called experts know what they are talking about.

Ta for all the help,

Alan.

Or you could get more than one opinion.

Bye.

Yes true. One of the guys that looked at the car was a MOT tester and he used his own diognostic machine. He came to the conclusion that it was not the high pressure pump and in hignsight he was correct. The garage owner was at pains to defend his conclusions and slated the guy for not using non Land Rover diagnostic equipment.
We had no means of moving the car as we had moved away from the area.

Alan.
