Bit of a funny thread perhaps, but thinking about making some kind of arm rest for my Disco 1.

After near 12 hours constant towing in my Discovery the other week, my right elbow was killing me! :D

Has anyone else looked into this? The door handle/bar/arm rest thing is so tiny, and rock solid! Gotta be a way to improve it for those long distance trips :)

I'm the same tallness, but habitually have the seat very upright no matter what I drive. I do however find that when the springs go in the seat squab that can lead to a 2-3" drop in height.

One of the guys on here had a right angled metal plate, one side slipped in the gap btw the window and the other had a bit of foam glued onto it...worked a treat tbh
Exactly! That's the kind of things I'm looking into making. I'll definitely keep this thread updated if I do come up with something :D

Hahaha. Ultimate!

5'8 and complaining that you cant get compfy ?

I'm 5'6 and have no problems mate, use the top of the door card !
:D Lol, fair enough! I think maybe its because I have a smaller wheel on my Discovery compared to the standard one, so my seating/arm position is different perhaps.

I have an idea for an arm rest anyway. Will keep ya'll updated lol

5'5 and the top of the door card's the best i've found, window open, good singalong (nivana for me at the mo) music on the stereo and you'll soon find it comfy:D:D

Have you checked your seat squab tensioner.
On my disco 1 it had split and you get used to it.
Bought an updated tension panel from Craddocks i think
And what a difference.
Lifted up about 4 inches. I also am 5,8 and towed for years without a sore arm.
Check it out
