Ambient pressure fault

Have a ambient pressure fault showing on my hawkeye have replaced the sensor in the airbox a couple of times and have not been able to clear the faults. Noticed that the lid of my airbox is broken slightly so is not sealing properly. Could this be the reason why the ambient pressure fault will not clear?
