hi all
i have a freelander 1.8 ,,head gasket was done around 10000 miles ago
i now have a gurgle pass. side behind dash... only seems to happen when starting from cold, have i caused this by constantly removeing expansion cap to check water level or is this the start of more trouble???

sounds like its either air con or the interior heater pipes. The hippoo is a bugger to get rid of air locks, so that is a possibility. I assume yu aren't using any water?

doesnt seem to be losing water i have been removing cap to make sure
is this a bad thing to do... head gasket has become a bit of an obsession with me!!!! doesnt have air con .. also forgot to mention this gurgle only started about a week ago ...read a thread about running for 10mins without cap on ,would you advise this??

As mentioned above, Hippos are a pain in the a*se for air locks. I would suggest making sure that the system is bled correctly. Have a look at the proceedure below.
