ok errr... this has been the probem since i brought the car last friday. i have used it this evening only about 7 miles to a friends house problem was the same on the way there, on the way back battery light went out and rev gauge worked normally, apeared to have fixted its self :)

but now battery charge light comes on when i turn off engine and stayes on with keys out of ignition. and i havent touched any thing yet! any ideas????

ok cheers fot the help guys. i will look at gettting a new one, quick thought will a standad alternator be ok, as it has twin battries?

that will have to go on the 'todo list' as batteries dont seem to be loosing any charge as yet, and i doing the clutch tomorrow a will need more money for alternator lol

The alt might be charging ok, just that it don't realise it's charging perhaps.

I got one for my 3.5 v8 from euro car parts, 38.50 :)

Don't know if it's the same part on the diesel...?

after doing my clutch change this weekend, left door open all day it flattened battery so had 2 jump it off the van. Took it for a 5 minin drive then left it running for 20 mins. tried to start, but battery dead. So it looks as if i need to part with some money for alternator sooner rather than later :( , probly order one online tis evening or tomorrow. does any one know if standard alternator is ok with twin batteries???
