Hey,

I've got a 51 plate td4 and in the car you can't see any alarm sensors like anti hijack, but earlier my friend wanted to stay in the car while I went to the shop and I locked the car. And about a minute later the alarm went off. Any idea how the car knows he was there?

The 3 door uses a microwave sensor in the roof near the interior light. The 5 door i'm not so sure at the moment?
It uses sensors but can't remember where they are located. :(
If you are leaving someone in the car lock it with the key, that way the interior sensors are de-activated, more importantly the super locking is'nt engaged so the doors can still be opened from inside!!

If you lock the car with the key with someone inside, only turn the key once. If you turn it twice it will superlock the doors meaning the inner door handles won't open the doors. CDL switch will be disabled when superlocking.

Don't ever lock it with the remote with someone inside as this superlocks the doors. Hence inner door handle and CDL switch disabled.

Betterer way is to get the person inside to lock the car with the CDL button inside, if your not sure. Inner door handles and CDL switch will still work.

Interior alarm sensor is behind the sunroof in the roof on the 5 door.

in the 3 door sensors are behind the cubby hole above the rear view mirror, think thats why there is a hole in the bottom.

I was thinking of covering that hole with an interior light fitting. Does that mean the sensors would no longer read movement inside the car?

That would suggest that you can't put anything in the cubby! I think it's behind the sunroofs

Awesome thanks!
Only locked him in there because he wanted to sleep he is not a child he's 27 lol, just thought it would be safer and because I didn't see any sensors thought the alarm would be fine, now I know differently! :)
