Hi all,It's a 1996 and i have been having trouble setting the alarm/immobilizer,it's the 2 button fob sometimes it will set i.e the hazards will flash 3 times indicating the system has set correctly but most of the time it's very random i.e the red led on the dash in on constantly and not flashing indicating the system has set correctly, instead of the hazards flashing 3 times they will flash upto 20 times or not at all at first but 2 minutes later they will flash again about 20 times it's all very random any advice please,
Danny

You have could have an ECU problem as the dash LED should only flash, quickly at first and then settle down to a lower flash rate. Have you fitted a new battery or is the existing one ok? are all the door contacts and bonnet switch ok have you tryed locking with the key and unlocking with the fob?

Hi discool, main battery on the landy is ok and also i have changed the fob battery,i remember someone saying there is a way of testing the door/bonnet switches by doing something and then getting confirmation through the alarm sounder,i also forget to mention that the sounder keeps going off randomly which is annoying the neighbours a bit so the sounder is now unplugged

Even if the sounder is isolated the indicators will flash indicating the alarm condition, bonnet switch can give problems just unplug and see how it goes, likewise with the interior sensor just remove from the headlining and unplug then see how that goes.

There's no such test other than the misslock signal if a door is open, or opening an unlocked door from inside when the alarm is set.
