Put a temperature probe in the vents last summer on a hot day (Rare) and was getting 6 deg. on "Low"
I can't put it on Low for more than a couple of minutes, even on the hottest days as it freezes everyone in the car, especially if it is on Recirculating mode!!

Hi Guys, just an update re my aircon The fundies of course were right, the condenser was leaking from the right front top!.
So after research ordered one from an ebay supplier which came with pag oil and new orings.
Arrived early this pm.Good I thought,I can fit it this afternoon and have aircon for the weekend as the weather is actually getting warmer.
Out with the old and in with the new.But no , the fan assembly of course would not fit.The mounting captive nuts on the new unit were so out alignment that I could only get two of the four securing bolts to engage and then with with difficulty.
I then noticed that the bottom locating holes for the mounting studs actually had radiator core covering most of their diameter. So even if I had managed to mount the fans when I installed the condenser ,the locating studs would have punched great bloody holes in the core and I would now have two holes instead of one as in the original condenser!
Phoned the supplier and of course "We have supplied many of these without ever having any issues".If I post it back to them they will evaluate it and decide what to do.
No go I asked for their address and said I will bring it to them with my old unit and show them the issues. To their credit they agreed and gave me their address. So Monday l will pay them a little visit.!
Dont you just hate when a plan dosent come together!!!

Hi John

Did you get a better fit on another condenser in the end? Have bought a premium brand Hella unit and the bottom left (dryer side) bolt won't align with the captive nut ...

Been advised is common issue on p38 (and just to leave the bolt out as it is also located solidly with the locator pins), but would rather have a perfect fit eith no bits left over, or am I asking too much perhaps!?

Very easy job until I got to that problem.

Have a good quality and spare new old-stock condenser (Man Zai) for a RR Classic if anyone needs one then let me know.

D.
