I buying a 2001 TD5 and one of the first jobs is to recondition the front propshaft with new UJ's and centre bearing. Another TD5 owner has pointed out that the air conditioning drain plug is situated above the centre bearing and the constant drip of water (aircon is used all the time here) contributes to it failing on a fairly regular basis.

Does anyone have any experience of this and maybe devised a way to divert the flow?

Thanks for any suggestions.

I don't think that's quite right. The nearside drain is just above the auto transmission XYZ switch and does help that to die (can be diverted with a bit of plastic tube), but that's the only problem I'm aware of.
