L322 Airbag light 0x50 Supply Voltage Less than 9.6v

Can anyone help.
Getting my 05 l322 ready for MOT, trying to get the Airbag light sorted.
Most things I read re the error from Gap IID seem to be more P38 related.
I suspect I may have a BCM issue due to rear locks, boot and power steering issues.
Any pointers or advice?

The photo with the Wago connector is how I found the connections linked to the +VE battery lead, someone has tried to bypass it previously.

I wired a 2ohm resistor into the yellow connection coming from the cars loom. I am told It’ll trick the car into thinking there’s a stable circuit, lights will go off.

I have ordered the positive lead but sadly it wont be hear till almost new year. previous bodger has messed with the car loom side of yellow connector and the wires were snipped right at the connector.

Last image is faults on Gap IID after putting the 2Ohm resistor across the yellow connector loom side (Brown, Brown with Red stripe).

Any help re getting the airbag light off for MOT and then the correct fix once the new +VE battery lead arrives.

The airbag fault has to be cleared using diagnostics.
If 9.6v is your battery voltage then it's way too low.
Doubt it will pass an MOT if airbags are bypassed.

Battery is not at 9.6v if you look in upper lrfy of the Gap iid screen shots the battery voltage is shown.

I have cleared codes with Gap IID.

MOT checks the Airbag light comes on and goes off they don't check k on each component of the system.

No but if they check that the battery is secure the chances are they will see the bodge

I am more concerned with the 2ohm resistor thing not working to clear the light even after clearing codes.
Can anyone advise what I should look at next as it implies the new +ve cable when it arrives may not fix it.

Sorry, I steer well clear of the L322 and it's nightmare electronics.

When my airbag light comes on my Foxwell always says it's the battery disconnect module.
I'm not familiar with the GAP IID but is this the message relating to the airbags?

Where did you put the resistor?
is it in series towards the battery or across the 2 brown wires?
I suspect the resistor is/should be trying to recreate the battery disconnect module.

Also if the GAP IID can report issues with the battery disconnect module but hasn't seen one then the resistor may well be doing it's job and the issue is elsewhere.

The resistor is a substitute for the disconnect module, the same trick can be applied when removing airbags.

Still reckon if spotted it's an MOT fail but it's not my money

Another thought. Has it been disconnected because it's firing the charge on the battery disconnect module

Yes saw that in RAVE. I'm looking to see if the ECU applies 12v to fire it in which case the OP can check the voltage to see if the yellow plug is live.

I put the resistor across the brown and brown wire red stripe wires

if the battery disconnect and resistor are both connected across the wires, it could flag an error because the resistance will be too low. If the disconnect device is good, fix the wiring & remove the resistor.

The resistor is across the wires where the yellow connectors normally are. so it is only the resistor conected not the battery disconect.

My hunch is that the resistor is doing its job and making it look like the battery disconnect is ok , however as the light in the dash remains on then there must be some other fault in the SRS system.

My problem now is how to find that when Gap IID isn't giving me any more information?

Looking back at the first post, I suspect the 14V at top left is the voltage to the diagnostic reader. Check the voltage supply to the SRS ECU to see if that's 9.6V (i.e. what the error says) ?

good thinking, is that the one under the centre console if so where is it fed from?
