Air Conditioner And Fan Problem!!!

Hi, I am new to the forum, have read quite a few of the posts, and am very glad to see that you guys in England know much more about all the Landy's than the so called experts here in South Africa.
I have purchased a Land Rover Freelander 2.0 Diesel 1999 model, it is in very good nick, but yes there is a but, when I switch on the fan I can hear it but there is almost no air comming out of the vents. Also the aircon, I can hear the compressor, but also no air. I can't see any blockadges at all!!

Have u checked the pollen filter under heater box - 4 screws under heater

I have checked to see if i can see the pollen filter where the Hayes manual say it would be, but I must be either stupid or blind or maybe both but I can't find the bloomin thing!! I am looking on the passenger side under the dash, the only thing I see there is the recycle vent's servo when I take the cover off.
