anybody no a quick test of me air con on a freelader? doesnt seem very cold? infact little dif to outside air temp

hey there robint, awesome quick reply, many thanks :) havnt checked a/c pump, will i be able to hear it ? does it cost much 4 a re charge ? btw, great location title, made me pmsl!

i have no experience with gaylanders but would suspect the system works like any other car , when the button is pushed you should see a blip in the revs ............ usual gas refill down is around £30 to £40 try find an independant refridgeration company they usually do it cheaper than a garage

Worth checking on system for leaks immediately after - otherwise you might be up for another refill very shortly..... A lot of aircon specialists will refill and then check for you FOC within a week or so

was exactly same here ..

gas recharge at local LR place cost £30 .. including air-con bomb
( anti bacterial / fungal thingy that smells like those car airfreshners )

took them half hour or so while i waited ..

aircon now useful for keeping ice-cream tubs at temp in footwell ..
so they make it home to fridge without melting :)

~~~~~~~
btw .. it be suggested to use the aircon once a week ..
'cause if it don't get used .. the gas dissapates 'n making it harder on the pump internals .. .. evidently ..
not exactly right - there is a lubricant which gets pumped in with the refrigerant, this keeps all the seals and parts lubricated as the gas circulates. when the aircon isn't on the seals dry out and begin to leak.
