I have had the thing re-gassed 3 times now each time it lasts less, the last it only worked for about 2 weeks :-(

The garage I use is good and said that the fan at the front is not cutting in so the pressure is building too high and blowing out the gas, they said to turn it off when I am stationary, I followed all recommendations but after not even a couple of weeks no cold air.

I have read on various forums that people say the fan will very rarely cut in if at all, so am not sure if this is actually the problem or if I have a plain and simple leak.

Does anyone here know if there is a way of testing the fan at the front? or have any other ideas on what it may be.

Many Thanks
Lee

Fan will only cut in if the condesnoer gets too warm or the cooling system is struggling in high load/high heat situations.

If the pressure is building too high, they are either over filling or the condesnor is blocked...but the fans should come on before the pressure/temp gets critical

Get the m to fill with a UV dye on the next recharge, then using UV Lamps look for signs of a leak!

Could be a holed condensor (common) or (as happened to mine) when replacing the main radiator, you have to move the condesnor/rad assembly back a tad to slide the radiator out....this on mine had the effect of disturbing the unnions to the top of the condensor causing a small leak.

Or, it may be the evapourator leaking...which is an arse!

i presume the only way to tell for certain is the dye option and another re-charge?

Cheers, Lee

Usually, if you take the slam plate off and pull out the condensor, there will be oil stains where it is leaking.
the space between the condensor and the radiator gets full of crap which doesn't help cooling.
