Hi guys
Does anyone run an aftermarket fuel gauge in their 88" S2a / S3, that works if so which one please, i've recently tried x 2 gauges the first one was a multi ohms one which at the time i didn't know what ohms mine should be so i just took a chance and it just wouldn't read right probable as it wasn't compatable with my sender ( S3 sender ) then late i found out what the ohms should be ( 240-33 ohms ) and found another gauge that worked with these ohms so after fitting the gauge and with full tank of fuel i took it for an 80'ish mile round trip and the gauge stayed on full, i still have the wire taped up for the old working gauge close to tank so i re-connected it and the gauge read 3/4 full ( 200tdi ) the reson for this is i just want a closer gauge that matches the rest of my 52mm round gauges i have 🙂

Gauge and sender must match. Best way to do this is buy from same supplier. Then wire up and test off the vehicle. It's a smiths sender so you should be able to get a sender to match the bolt hole pattern.

Silly question, maybe, What's up with the original one?
Nothing it works fine but as its a 2a and i now wear spec's i want a gauge that i can read easy without removing my spec's all the time where as with my other aftermarket gauges i can read with ease with or without my spec's on 🙂

Its an aftermarket gauge i have a problem with the sender and original gauge both work fine and the new gauge is the same ohms as the original gauge 🙂

There is a way of tuning any gauge by installing adjustable resistors on the positive going in and the negative going out and I was expecting to go down this rout but I just randomly ordered one and it just worked. I’ll have a look and get back to you.
