Hi All,
We recently bought a Freelander 2 and I am trying to install an android radio,
I ran into a few issues.

Firstly there seems to be no 12v ignition wire in the block.
Secondly the steering control wires don't measure as usual Can't measure change in voltage/resistance?
On the wiring diagram there are two wire which I don't understand "MS CAN H" and "MS CAN L", anybody now what they are?

The factory install is permanent live and switched on and off using the CAN

The wires MSCAN H and MSCAN L are the comms wires to send that message

You’ll need to take an ignition feed from somewhere - cigarette lighter or some such place

What age is your car? Steering wheel switches should be a resistive ladder depending on age of car

The FL2 is from 2008.

It is the grey/yellow and orange for the steering wheel controls isn't it?

I will get a wire from the lighter now. Cheers

And while I am asking question; do you happen to know where the closest wire is for the reverse switch from the head unit?
Need that for the reverse camera ;)

What headunit did you have fitted from factory? 10 presents or 6 presets?

Do you have parking sensors?

Audio for parking sensors go through factory audio so you need an interface box for handle this on aftermarket stereo

No parking sensors, 6 preset radio

Hi td4van and tulipandthistle.
I'm new here and wondering if you can help. I have a 2008 freelander 2 s td4. I'm installing a double din touch screen radio and don't know which wires are the steering wheel controls. tulipandthistle says they are Grey yellow and orange as ground. Can you tell me are these wires on the radio connector with the speakers.
I would really appreciate and help you can give me. The person before me installed a Nokia car kit and did a butcher job on the harness. I have it mostly repaired now.
Also what is the second radio connector for, it has 4 wires.. 2 blues, yellow and yellow black. Bottom of picture attached.

Thanks Guys

I am also interested in knowing the wiring for the back of the cd400 radio, as I just bought a XTRONS unit that goes where the OEM satnav screen would have been (if the option had been paid for). It is supposed to make use of the AUX input to the unit, but looking in the box there is just one large plug. So if the aux is that second little plug this isn't going to work!
