Advice needed on Loom

Expert advice needed lol!

Trying to fit a autosparks harness and lol not sure how the loom gets routed. No instructions came. The old loom was somewhat custom; fitted ok -a bit patched up from rodents, but I doubt it was correct. Anyways I have a good diagram and I know where 95% of the wires go lol, just not sure what route and the locations of the P-clips should be. (there were no clips, just plastic zip ties, so I bought a few clips)

For instance, the part of the loom that goes to the grill (horn, headlights, turn signals, etc, does it go along the frame, above the frame, but below the battery tray, or the along the top inside of the fender? Do the P-clips go to the mystery holes in the fender? There is a chaffing or a heat protection sleeve on some of that section. Whats that for?

The section that goes down to the dip switch and brake switch, where is the correct locations for the p-clips?

Also surely someone must know, does the ACR type ALT wire on Series 3 vehicles cut across behind the water pump? I saw a picture of a restored 2a (alt conversion) with that wire going that direction with a convenient clip somewhere on one of the bolts there for that too!.

I did search a while for my answer, but all I come up with is loads and loads of diagrams (schematics) not locations. There is a Series 2 picture from a parts book that shows all different kinds of clips, but not the locations. I cant quiet tell from looking a pictures where the wire loom should be routed....

right from the hole in the bulkhead it goes down as far as the steering box where the big plug should be its lowest point then heads from there directly to the inner wing ( fender) where it follows the mysterious holes with the p clips you got ending up at the front end in the corner where the bonnet prop fixes to the front pannel with the bullet type connectors for the sidelights and indicators in the corner

from there it goes through the rubber bung 1" diameter hole through the side of the radiator coweling at the top to under where the bonnet catch is where theres an earth point there should be the 3 connectors there for the headlights and another hole for fixing another p clip

then its same story out the other side to the passengers wing with the last few connectors for the washer pump and side lights / indicators to connect to

I took your advice and routed it that way. I think the clips on the bulk head might be wrong, there were a few holes to chose from for the mounting the clips. lol

I got up to the grill. I am still not sure where to slide that protective rubber section on the harness too. Right now (see picture) it is protecting the loom from brake fluid spills. :D :D I think ill try and route the wire from the alt behind the water pump - the wire seems just right for going that way.
