I've just had a new clutch fitted and the 'bite' point is now near the top of the pedal.

Is that normal?

After fitting a new clutch, are there any adjustments that need to be made?

Just don't want to the new clutch to be cactus after a couple of weeks.

Cheers

you can get shims that fit in between slave cylinder and box ,you did ensure release bearing was seated properly, pedal can be adjusted on rod in pedal box

land rover tolerances vary ,but as near the top as that would seem not right must be awkward to drive ,slacken slave bolts a little to see if pedal seems better

you cant run it that way as bolts would unscrew completely and/or securing holes on slave would snap off ,just to see if it works ,if does fit relavant shims tighten up job done

Sorry James, I meant run with the clutch biting where it is and not mucking about with it.

(I'll still loosen the slave, though, but I'm wondering if it'll last the way it is, or will it poo itself)

if there is still freeplay in system and there is no pressure on clutch through release bearing and alls fitted correct then it would run with no problem

im **** at making money so i wouldnt worry about not been good at mechanics, pedal will have some loose movement before getting stiff ,if pedal has no upward movement then it will be putting pressure on clutch system
