Thanks to all the brilliant advice I had from this site I put some injector cleaner through a tank of fuel and have used Redex and 2 stroke oil for a few tanks.

Now, I don't know if I have had any benefit as I have done this since I had my 06 TD4 Freelander last year. I'm assuming some sort of benefit. I don't know what it was like before.

Done all the EGR & pcv stuff. Fitted a Synergy 2e too.

When the Redex bottle has run out in about 4 tanks do I simply carry on using 2 stroke only or Redex as well.? It all seems an expensive way of fuelling up.

I can see the thinking in 2 stroke oil, but do you reckon the Redex has done its job for a while & can be left out?

Thanks

David

Best additive on the market is the forte stuff, it will only clean though and not improve, your getting back lost performance, not making any more... I will say the forte turbo cleaner stuff is very good for diesels, it brings down the burn temperature of the carbon build up, diesels don't burn hot enough to burn carbon hence the big black smoke clouds you get now and again...

Just use shell vpower in every tank, you'll spend the same amount of cash as putting that other crap in but you'll get a quieter motor, more power and a cleaner engine!

Hhhm. That suggests that we are paying extra for a fuel that we used to get standard years ago at normal price.

Guess it's like a lot of things these days - we're getting screwed over:(

Worth a thought about V Power.
