Can anyone help tell me what this could be. 94 disco 1 TDI when I get around 3000rpi the car feels like foot slipped off accelerator on and off in fairly quick succession?

Does not slow down much but at that rpi it is very noticeable.

Thanks in advance

Colin

Mine wouldn't rev much above 3000 once - turned out to be rubbish on the gauze of the lift pump, blocking fuel flow.

If its fuel related, on and off power sounds more akin to minor air leak under powers though, than simple restriction.

That said, I did once read of someone having issues with their sedimenter where they got intermittent blockage.

One last thing - does it smoke when doing it? I've also heard (no personal experience) of the air duct pre turbo collapsing in under high flow, but I suspect that would cause it to smoke.

I'd do the fuel and air filters, and the sedimenter, and move on from there.

Many thanks. Makes sense

More than likely fuel starvation, but if fuel checks out. Outside chance have a look for a leak turbo to boost diaphragm.

Correct and thanks. All gunned up. New filter, and cleaned out sedimentor and blew fuel lines back. Running great now.

Cheers
