i like Fords - 100E, cortina, anglia - my gt - all good cars - engines were good reliable lumps too - dunno abart now tho. just coz i like the looks of the hippo and nuffink beats a lr orf road dont mean i cant apreciate others tho.

just coz i is married - dont mean i cant apreciate beauty elsewhere - just not allowed to touch :D

If I was to buy one I would get the escape and save me a few grand on the same vehicle. If you could not live without the landrover name you could buy the emblems on ebay and a tube of glue for less than 50 bucks:D

slight problem there mate....

Ford's Escape is a petrol/electric-powered SUV, unfortunately only for the US market

Mad
The Escape just came out as a hybrid electric about two years ago. Before then they were petrol only, no diesel option. The hybrid is really not even an option here as you can't go to the dealer and buy one, they are order only and there is a several month wait. The Escape and Free lander are basically the same vehicle, with a few option differences. If you put two side by side with no emblems you would not beable to tell which is which. Its a common practice with American Auto Makers; chevy does the same thing with the Avalanche and the Cady Escalade. The only difference is the lux package on the Escalade and it has a different grill. And of course the price tag is about 20 Gs more on the Escalade. Guess some people don't think that is a bad price for a nicer grill and leather seats.
I do like Rovers, pre-2000 before Ford got a hold off them. Not much of a fan of Fords. Can't have much respect for a company who after 30 years of faithful service, takes away the retirements of thousands of workers to keep their rich asses afloat.

Guess you poor saps don't have much choice in the matter. With all those exporters sending all the older Rovers over here all you boys will be left with is the dressed up ford:p

We will take them... It will turn out just like the Unimogs that are mostly here now and priced way above the value of what they where a few years back. I give it ten years.. and an old sIII will cost more there than a new Rover, just because there are non left.... It will give you some more "pimp my ride" programs to watch too.
