Well here I go, half past nine and just going out to start changing the engine, gotta brush the snow off before I put it in the garage and straight into it!

I'm going to strip the heads off with the block in the car, just incase it is really obvious that the gaskets are fooked, if so I may just try a set of gaskets on and run it for a few days before going the whole hog and swapping the engine! My other thought is that with the heads off the bellhousing bolts will be easier to get at.

Anyone have any redhot tips to help me with the job?? last time I did a p38 I swapped engine and box as a whole lump, this time I only have a new block and heads to swap over so not going to bother with the gearbox as well or do you think it is easier to pull the lot out and swap it over on the floor? I have a 2 post lift, engine crane and air tools so not worried about the job just like the easy life!!
