300tdi Transfer box

ive got a 110 hicap i lost drive on the front wheels in difflock it wont go in hi range and its a fight to get it back in to lo range and it just makes a grinds noise and wont move if i put it in diff lock it will only move if i hold the lever over hard over ive removed the linkages and tride moving hi and low lever on the box manuel and it wont move im gessing its the transfer box?
