Ok well ill start off by saying i know how to get around the starting fault and how to bodge it to work all the time, now for the fun or not so much for me over the last few months :censored: .....
my 5 door 300tdi M reg 1994 developed a starting issue occasionally hot or cold where you would turn the key and all the dash lights would come on and nothing would happen when you turned it further. Some times you could do it a few times and it would start eventually it decided to stop playing. So i checked all the earths tried banging the starter motor ended up buying a new battery and it started working again BUT it recently cropped up again whilst trying to find the problem i was turning the key and nothing, my dad shut the back passenger door in between me trying again and VROOOM!!! Opened the door again nothing. Shut it, it works. Same with both sides only rear doors not the boot though
if i hold the door switches for the lights it starts so i can just join the wires and make them redundant but i would like to know if this has happened to anyone else??
