hi all a few weeks ago my 300tdi 90 blew the head gasket, fixed that and all seemed well. Since the head gasket change it has been a bit smokey (oily smell) on start up but clears its self after a few miles. I thought this was valvestem oil seals, but it seems to be gettin worse. Yesterday i noticed a pool of oil below one of the joints in the exhaust, it looks like there's oil getting into the exhaust system.

has anybody any ideas.. Is my turbo fecked.##

cheers Gary

Having thunk about it ...

Do you mean the exhaust pipe itself or the oil drain hose on the bottom of the turbo (N0 12) in turbo piccy ? ...

Is the oil coming out of the head ? Is it 100% oil or is coming out after the turbo ? If it is running out the slip joint of the exhaust then the problem lies with the head side. If the engine has high back pressure then I would advise checking valve guides and turbo. More than likely a dripping injector though. Run the engine on idle for 10 mins if you have a laser temp gun go along the exhaust if you have a bad injector it will be a lot higher temp or colder than the rest but bear in mind cylinders 2 and 3 will be slightly hotter than 1 and 4

i took the air intake off and there is a good 6mm play in the turbo shart in all directions, so im thinking the turbo is fecked.

Thanks for all the input and help.
