Mornin!

Just bought myself a '98 300tdi Disco. Needs a few odds and sods sorting but generally looks pretty solid. Anyhow the oil cooler pipes are leaking at the rubber/metal joint. I'd like to swap them out so here's the question, with the engine stopped, (obviously! :) ), does the oil in the oil cooler siphon back into the sump or does it stay full/half full? Should I expect a gush of oil when I crack the nut on the bottom pipe?

Thanks.

Remove the pipes from the block/oil filter first, let them drain into a container placed beneath filter housing (approx 1 litre will drain out), then remove cooler end of pipes.
