300tdi into a 200 v8

Ok guys
How easy is it to replace the 3.5v8 engine in a 200 disco with a 300tdi engine and gearbox.
I would have the complete 300tdi car.
How hard is the actual changeover and what parts are needed from the tdi.

If it's too hard won't bother buying the v8.

Both are manual and reason is body is great on v8 and running gear is great on tdi

Apart from all the wiring and possibly fuel tank change etc I believe you will have to cut off current engine mounts and weld on the engine mounts from the 300tdi. I think they are different shape/size and in a different position.

Oddly enough I was looking into this yesterday. Tricky would be my answer!

Whether it is worth it in the end or not is a tough question to answer.

you dont need to change fuel tank, mounts you do obviously for engine ,gearbox mounts /crossmember can just be bolted up , not a particular hard job
