I've searched and couldn't find what Im after. Its a 94 300tdi with snorkel and extended breathers.Today at Tidworth my disco started to miss and cough after having fun in the wet stuff. Its never done it before, but then I've never been that relentless splashing before. It wasn't smoking, just very start stop when the throttle was pressed to the floor and at one point I switched it off and it wouldn't start again for ages as if it had dried out.It drove the 2 hour drive home fine.My question is have I missed waterproofing something or is it a sign of bad things coming?

Snorkels water tight. Airbox holes sealed, checked air filter and dry as a bone. Wading plugs are thing I didn't have, but then alot of people didn't have them fitted and were fine. Was I just the unlucky 1?

Im still trying to find out any info I can on the fuel systems on a 300tdi.Im not a noob, but do get stumped when it something I've not come across in. Would the fuel stop solenoid make it miss and stop it starting if wet or faulty. If so what would I be looking for?

Is it manual or auto? Autos run an EDC system which 'may' be more susceptible to water ingress, they have an AFM which I imagine wouldn't like getting wet...

Have you checked your filter for water? Even if you think its OK its best to actually check.

Its manual,Air filter is bone dry.Checked it when it was playing up.I can only think its to do with something getting wet as its never missed a beat the whole time I've owned it.
