Hi Folks,

Long time since I have been on the forum....mainly because I haven't been in the UK. Anyway, out is the '72 SerIII and in is the '97 300TDi 110.

So, the vehicle is new to me and is a 110 Double Cab. The vehicle is a 1997 but has been the subject of a ground up restore with a 2009 body. I went to fit an alarm that includes door lock solenoids and found that I already had solenoids.

The interior also has ultrasonic sensors fitted.

So I read that the 2000+ came with a fitted alarm. I can find lots of pictures of the alarm box. I can find wiring diagrams for the alarm box. But I cannot find where in the vehicle the damn thing should be!

Anyone like to point me in the direction of the alarm ecu so I can check it was installed?

Thanks

Neil

I don't think anyone's going to tell you where it is on a public forum.....

PM me then.....I don't want to bypass it I want to find it!

On a normal vehicle removing it would immobilise the engine. On mine it has already been bypassed but I would like to wire my alarm into the system. If I can find where all the door lock solenoid cables meet it is half the job done.

I have no middle front seat! I fitted a cubby box there yesterday so no wires or ecu.

Following another thread that said it was in the with the battery I had a look in there as well. Nada. There is a hole with a grommet but no ecu.

Another thread suggested it is behind the instrument cluster but I thought that was the imobiliser. Oh well.....looks like I will have to follow the door lock solenoids to their bitter end.

Well i know its a public forum but TBH even if they thief finds if which they will its a 300tdi FFS if you can't steel one of them you should give up !

They are in one of 3 locations using harness extensions and other variables i.e. vehicle fit etc

behind clock (tucked away look hard)
above fuse box LOOK HARDER
Mounted under middle seat although the spec was battery box they were moved because of acidic corrosion.

the box is Black with nothing written on it

Thanks Dave. I will whip out the instrument cluster and see what I can find when the rain stops!
From my ebay viewings I know what the box looks like now. Should be an easy matter of looking where it should be and seeing a hole!

Just had a look at my old notes 6429 is the box part number the later ones are green its about the size of a box of super king fags, some of the early TD5 special vehicles were fitted with a Cobra Alarm that was much better.
