I know there are loads of threads on this but here is my problem.

Cylinder head was cracked due to overheating leaking gaskets bad radiator etc. from previous owner.

I have replaced head gasket, new cylinder head, p-gasket, water pump and gasket, radiator and thermostat. I have also replaced timing belt and the timing is spot on.

No loss of oil or water all seems in order.

I am getting a bit of white smoke on startup which clears and when accelerating hard I get white smoke. The engine starts fine. The running temp on coolant gauge runs a fraction over half way but does not climb higher. I think its slightly too hot.

I missed first gear and when into third to pull away the other day and there was clouds of white smoke from exhaust.

Idle and power are fine but mpg is bad.

Does the above sound like worn injectors or low compression?

What should a compression test read?

yes did the valves. I am thinking injectors as they have been used in two heads that have both overheated and cracked. Are they prone to failure after a head has overheated? Started the engine this morning from cold with glows unplugged, it started but not very well.
