300 tdi over boosting

One of the many jobs I'm trying to sort on my defender at present is over boosting,

My mates have always said it sounds awesome on boost, has always been the same for the 3 years and 4k miles

Then one of my mates has given me a tims boost gauge that's goes to 1 bar,

I installed it and went for a drive and it boosts a lot, at full boost the needle rest on b 'b' of turbo, now that's somewhere about 1.8bar I think

I've tried to move the waste gate and I carnt, I then tried a shot of air from the airline down the hose, the rod twitches with a shot of air but doesn't move, just how hard should it be to move?

Scrap this just had another jog and managed to free of off with a bar and now moves with the sure line

I think you better install a boost gauge with a range of 1-2 bar to know exact what boost you've got

After I have freed the wastegate off it now boost a little over the red gess maybe 1.1bar

Does if feel like it runs any better now?

Yes massively, although I changed my turbo hoses aswell as the temp from the high boost had ment they started to deform,

Much more touque now and doesn't run as hot
