check part number of the one you've fitted first....in case we're barking up the wrong tree..

original LR part number is RFC 000010 for 2002 onward vehicles (with magnets in bearing)

ealier ones up to 2002 were ANR 5861.

it would be so much easier if the early bearings were discontinued!

Stupid question, if the 3 amigos are on intermittently and the brake light switch is at fault, would the brake lights be working. Mine are on sometimes, but the brake lights work, whether the amigos are illuminated or not.

Well just think I've gone someway to a result the amigos surfaced again so I got the chap with the diagnostics in and he says the only fault showing was a longitudinal accelerometer(also know as a G sensor I believe) running out of parameters, he has recalibrated and the faults have now cleared and not came back.

fingers crossed again....
After doing an emergency stop brake test ( Done so for 50 odd years ) on came the three Amber's. Having had no ABS ( don't like anyway) no TC ( wheels spinning) and HDC light on for 9 months or so it is time to do something, anybody got the best Idea to work through it all? to get everything working! The brake light switch works meaning the brake lights come on when peddle pressed all problems came on after the short sharp stop, any help most welcome. 2005 HSE Auto 105k three tours Europe, Working motor etc etc.
Regards,
Jonathan

Hi folks, my TD4 Freelander was exhibiting the usual three amigo's and after many many checks of various usual suspect items ie brake switches, wheel abs sensors etc. Eventually I purchased a HAWKEY code reader, however left it connected in the TD4 overnight which was not a good idea as it was promptly STOLEN by some drug fueled idiot Grrrrr!!.
So,some months later I decided that replacing the HAWKEYE was my only choice as the Police had not had any positive things to tell me. Sorry for this preamble just had to get it off my chest.:)

Re attached Hawkeye and it indicated front offside abs sensor problem so decided to have another look at this area in more detail, BINGO !!.

The reluctance ring around the outer CV Joint had split but was still in place around the CV Joint which had made it not very easy to see with all the road dirt and rust etc. The CV Joint was replaced as reluctance ring is fitted to it,
along with some more maintenance parts, job done:D

Instead of calling them the three amigo's I now call them the Orange little Bastards.... having had the drivers side Abs sensor/ bearing replaced (Shaged) I can drive down two particular stretches of road and estimate whithin 3 foot when the lights will come on..... if I stop switch off set of again the lights go off untill I go over some undulating surface and then the Little bastards come on again Anybody got any pointers
