200tdi fan/heater box cables

Hi and Merry Christmas!
Hooking up my heater box after rebuild and can't recall cable control set up.
2 cables from hot/cold & up/down switch (right sided control) and 1 cable from fan speed side (left side control).
Where doe the cable from the fan speed switch go??....doesn't make any sense as speed changes based on switch position.
I believe hot/cold goes on top of the box and up/down goes on the side of the box.

The up down / screen or footwell cable goes to a flap in the lower dash.
It is the fan cable that goes to the lower side of the heater box.
I forgot to reconnect mine when I gave the box an overhaul and have not bothered since as without the fan running little if any air warm or cold enters the cab.

I did the same and in winter just use a tie wrap under the bonnet to select hot.

The theory is that when the fan is off a flap closes in the heater box to block any air flow into the cab. The reality is it does nothing really. Positioning is as @tottot states above.
