200tdi Defender 90 - Can I fit a disco transfer box?

I have had a disco t/box fitted to my 300tdi for 6 months now.

Haven't noticed any loss of acceleration, but it doesn't cruise as happily on the motorway now and even the slightest of hills needs me to change down to 4th, even when I'm doing 70mph. If you are on the flat or going downhill it is fine, and seems to rev lots less, but I am not sure it is worth the effort as 4th on a motorway is just wrong!

Mate you should try the 2.5na. Sometimes it's 3rd on the motorway.....

I know the r380 is the more upto date and better box but as long as an lt77 is fitted to a transfer box with cross drilled input gears of oil feed plate then when looked after its a perfectly suitable gearbox.

I like the lt77 because the reverse and 1st are right next to each other so it's fractionally faster to 1st/ Reverse rock out of holes etc

Also there's a company now think I've seen them on eBay, selling fully reconditioned r380's but to replace the lt77 so different bell housing and the correct main shaft, not quite sure how they've done it inside the box

And I've put the 1.2 box in my 200tdi best thing I've done apart from air lockers and everything else ;)
Sits happy at 70 and got plenty left to go, bit less poke up hill but I am on silly sized tyres so can't blame it.

Mate is running 37"s with a nackerd old 200tdi thats had a bloody hard life and the 1.2 box and that just a 4th gear cruise wherever you go until you get downhill with wind behind then you get a little more speed, and a lot more wheel wobble but engine is on like no revs basically an overdrive!
