Now I have always wanted to build a 200 tdi from scratch, at least I then know I have got a sound engine for 200k+ miles.

I'm going to be doing a thread in a few weeks time when I start this project, start to finish.

The question is, do I leave it standard 2.5 or have it bored to 2.8???

Also I'm trying to find a performance can shaft, I know you can get them for V8s (saw it on a 4x4 is born) but can't find a 200tdi one. Is there anything else worth uprating while I'm at it?

imho there is no point in going the extra hassle for a 2.8, I can't see it giving that much power, no more than a decent tuned 2.5 and if you really really need that extra bit of power here and there just whack NoS on it, diesels love NoS and its cheap power...

I just thought about taking it to 2.8 as the Isuzu 2.8 is a popular engine for challenge trucks. But to be fair I don't think I can be arsed with it, I will just stick to 2.5

Something to do in what little spare time I have, between game keeping on a shoot, work, landscaping the garden, and working on the disco lol
