Hi,

Quick question... do you need to use threadlock on the bolts holding down the cylinder head? Replacing the head gasket this morning.

Nope, they are stretch bolts so don’t require it, usually use airline to clean out cylinder block holes and pop straight in, not recommended to oil them in case you get a hydraulic lock, just clean thread on bolts and block,

Ok, thank.... just trying to get the cylinder head bolts out now but not moving. Unsung a 600mm breaker bar put not budging.... as I have the engine out I am physically moving the engine trying to get these bolts out. Any ideas?

Probably could but unlikely to shift unless it a 3/4 inch air type with a very large compressor,
Strap a 4/2 lump of wood down the side or whip off the flywheel and bolt it the back of the engine,
Will give you something to hold onto,
