Hi just looking around a budget lift kits and came across a 2" spacer kit fits under spring and shock i am aware its not going to make a differance off road but looks good also i want slightly bigger tyres at some point is it a good idea on a cosmetic basis only just to make it look jacked up

I was thinking the same just drop the shock turrets or when you can afford get 2" lift shocks

Standard is Cheeper when it brakes ;-)

dont be put off by one persons bad experience with a lift,as has been previously said maybe items that have failed were on the verge of failing anyway,

ive had 3 landys all of which have been lifted and none of them had any problems associated with a lift

Whats this shock drop ? I thought all i would need is spacers

i had 2" spacers manufactured by my mate out of ally an theyre great , just make sure the hole in the centre of the front ones doesnt snag an bend the shocker on full articulation . if it does just put a few washers under one side to tilt it till it clears the shocker - as for the shock drop- a 2" lift block reduces the length of travel in the shocker by 2" so if u drop the bracket 2" you still have full shocker travel outwards , on the other hand id rather get new 2"+ shockers all round and not bother droppin the bracket , but each to their own

You can get drop plates for the rear shocks but as for the front you will need to either mod the oe stuff or get some -2 turrets,
If you can weld why not chop up the standard turrets to reduce the hight thus giving you back the shock absorber travel you will have lost by fitting the spacers
