2.5D NA head bolt re-torque advice

Hello,

I have just replaced the head gasket on my 2.5D NA. Started ok and so far so good.

I have read on some forums about re-torquing the head bolts after a period of running. Is there any good general advice on this. No mention of it in Haynes manual.

When our little garage was in operation we used to tighten/torque head bolts down after a week's running. Never had any problems with this. Mainly taxi engines and of course Land Rover 2.2 and 2.5 were used in the old FX4R and FX4S cabs. We also did it with the older 2.5 Leyland engines.

you shouldnt need to , but its worth going over twice when you first fit head

Ok thanks for advice. Did go over head bolts twice when it was fitted so will leave alone for the time being.
