2.25 petrol any good

I just bought a series 3 with this engine. I followed my girlfriend back home in it after buying it and she was driving our 2.5NAD 90. when it came to trying to get up a steep hill, I could have overtaken quite happily in the petrol, and she was struggling to keep at 40 mph! In a word, I like it! :)

Our 1982 109 Petrol pulls the sheep trailer fine. The one we had before that was just as good. They go forever and are real cheap and easy to fix. No stupid £400 bills for a wheel hub or £500 bills to plug into a computer here :)

Having had both diesel and petrol series vehicles I can honestly say the difference in mpg is negligible to the point of not noticing it at all.
As said in this post and others they are that little bit quicker of the mark and are definitely allot quieter I can onestly say they are the nicer of the two engines and slightly cheeper to repaire (No distributor pump, injectors ETC)

have to also add i know a few with 200tdi converstions and on a long long run we used the same amount or there abouts of fuel i know the 200tdi was better on fuel but when it came to paying they were only paying 2 maybe 3 pounds less than me ....plus i havent had to pay for and fit the 200tdi ...
