I just bought a 98 Dodge 2500 Ram Disel . When driving it and I get about
45 mph it wants to idel up and down. You can see the RPM go up and down
and you can feel it. If I let my foot off the pedal it stops. Why does
it do this and what may be wrong?

Do you notice that it is also shifting up and down? I'm not sure about that
truck, but many vehicles "learn" the driver's driving style within the first
couple of hundred miles and then it's set. You might try disconnecting the
batteries and let it sit overnight to clear the computers then drive it like
you normally would to re-teach it.

Also, the newsgroup alt.autos.dodge.trucks has several knowledgable people
in it.
