Now that it is fubar can you maybe cut it of and get another ?
That was always the fallback position.

I was wrong, it took another three holes, but at least I managed them before the temperature got silly.
Corrosion on the spline and taper.
I did damage the thread ever so slightly, but nothing that I can't dress up with a thread file.
Now, I can have a go at the electrics properly and hopefully pick up a new steering wheel at ChView attachment 243073 View attachment 243074 View attachment 243073 View attachment 243074 ievely next Sunday.
save that little spring clip with the 2 tabs - it’s the auto cancel for the indicators and maybe missing from a replacement wheel. It’s just a push fit item
I will, but it's badly corroded, so it'll get a blast and coating before it goes bak in. Those things are £20 new!
