1997 disco manual 300 tdi. Brought it yesterday with suspect headgasket! Brought all genuine parts to fix but turned out that wasn't the issue!
Has stripped the thread of the last rocker cam clamp and there for broke the rocker shaft.
I have removed the head to inspect Picton/bore valves and all appear good.
WORK TO DO
-drill and tap head for new bolt.
-new rocker shaft
-refit all back together
I have brand new genuine headgasket and all 18 bolts to go with.
To be honest money wise a shaft is £20 new and drilling and tapping for a new bolt £30
My intention was to get this done for Sunday so I could take off road but now won't be able to get it done it time
Price is £450 which is what it owes me.
Won't take a penny less as will either finish it or break it.
