Hi, could anyone tell me which heater my 1965 SWB series 2A (27105421C) should have. At the moment it has a mini one plumbed in, it works well but is in the way and I would prefer to get it back to how it should be. Thanks.

Your original heater would have been a round Smiths heater.

This is in turn connected to hoses that run through the bulkhead up to little vents that provide a bit of a de-misting function.

There's a little tap in the engine bay that needs to be turned on to allow the coolant through to the heater.

Rumour has it that the Clayton heaters (a slightly older design) are better than the Smiths heaters. That's what I have chosen for my 1965 series 2a station wagon

This thing doesn't have the connections for the de-misting tubing but I have been reliably informed the Smiths front can be added (modifications needed) so it still looks original (and the provisions for the tubes are there etc)

Either a replacement Smiths or a Clayton will set you back muchos dosh.

Sit down before you look at the prices
