Ive just bought my first canoe, a Nova craft bob special and need to get some roof bars for my 110.

first of all how many bars do people use when transporting a canoe on a 110, is it just the 2 i presume?

secondly does anyone have any good links for thule/patriot/hannibal roofbars etc at a good cost

Canoe is waiting to be picked up and this is the only thing stopping me getting it, noticed halfords didnt list a defender as option on their website.

any help in this matter would be appreciated.....

Colin

I can thoroughly recommend these.
Strong, well made and hug the roof line nicely.
Top company to deal with too.

DEFENDER ROOF BARS

2 will be plenty for a canoe.
I carry heavy timber, ladders and so on. I also put some shortish stuff up there too, that's why I got 3.

they look the business mate, you have been very helpful, many thanks for posting piccies too, they should use you photos on their site they are better than the ones they have just now

Thanks Col...

I bought 3 of these recently..

http://www.demarvan.co.uk/set_car.asp?act=setcar (search their site for 'Land Rover-110-Roofbars')

They are galvanised and very tough. Hardly any noise (wind) from them either. Having three means you can also put shorter items on your roof. I got them from their ebay shop.

Be mindful though that roof bars and roof racks may slightly reduce your mpg due to extra drag.

Ive no doubt the FirstFour bars are extremely good, they seem to have a good reputation.
