I have been in the process of trying to access the steering column ecu which as been giving me jip. According to rave it is not serviceable as it is in a housing fitted with non removable pins and in the event of failure the whole upper steering column has to be replaced. I have however managed to remove the pins by spinning them on a 2mm diamond drill bit and pulling them at the mont the bit bites in the pin. This reveals the ecu in all it's glory! It is clipped to the steering lock and has 2 small multi plugs attached which also lead into the steering lock. Removal of the ecu is simply a case of unplugging the two connectors and unclipping it from the steering lock. It can then be swopped with a new one without removing the steering column. I hope this thread saves some poor soul having to to do it in the future

No, you have to buy the full upper column for around 3k just for the sake of a circuit board that prob cost a couple of quid to make

There are plenty of places that will repair an ecu though. I've found one in Kent that will repair them and give a lifetime guarantee

Mine works absolutely perfectly. Even when it's low on leccy.;)

This is a painful issue. Any chance you have more photos or even a video to share with a poor soul?
