Hi all,

New day, new fun.

Found a big blob of grease under what I assume to be the steering box this morning. I’m also fairly sure the steering has gone from heavy to heavier this afternoon.

Pictures attached, if anyone can confirm and give advice on the fix, I’d very much appreciate it.

If it is grease then someone has put it in hoping to keep box lubricated. It should be oil in there.
There is an O ring seal behind the output arm that is likely gone.
Have LOOK at the steering output arm while someone waggles the steering wheel, any side to side, up and down movement means bush/shaft is worn and box needs an overhaul.

Thanks Tot, I’ll have a gander. Had the steering overhauled last year so hoping it’s just an O-ring. If that’s the case, can I just replace and refill with oil/one shot?

The box itself is a pretty basic item, Overhaul kit available. It is just that the steering column has to come out with it, not so bad with 2/2A as no dash in the way. Series 3 more work.

Well, I think I can put this on hold for the time being as the chassis has all but snapped : )

Thanks though all, it was the box that was leaking...
