the missus was overtaking when she got a sudden los of power. there is now a whistling sound when engine is revved. i have checked the turbo hoses and they are not punctured or torn i am not getting loads but some black smoke from the exhaust but there is oil and very small bits of metal debris...

yes and yes the auto select works fine with P R N D on selector and dash. yes N does give sport mode on dash and if i the push it back and select D i have forward motion.

i have just bought i td4 which has the sport/manuel setting, the lever will not shift across to the right in D but will in N but i get no drive in N even if i move the shift forwards or back, any ideas?
