    Discovery 2 For sale £1500 - Discovery 2 53 plate V8 ES auto

Bodywork - Deep metallic blue with a few chips and marks but good for a 15 year old car. Heated windscreen has 3 chips which have been no problem for past MOTs. Some corrosion along the upper windscreen trim. Note roof bars are not included. Apologies it is quite dirty in the pictures. I washed...

    Another D2 central locking nuancr

Thanks for the replies. Very useful. Just to confirm a few bits of info, yes, I get a mislock horn blast when I lock the car. The courtesy light behaviour also confirms this, as the manual says that if a door is left open, the courtesy lights turn off after 8 minutes rather than the much...

    Another D2 central locking nuancr

Searched the forum and I can’t find another thing quite like this, so apologies for another central locking post. My 2001 D2 has a door not registering closed which I need to track down. Pretty sure it’s not the bonnet though! If the car is left for 6 hrs or so, the fob no longer works the...

    TD5 Rave

Apologies for asking a question that has been asked a million times!! I am really struggling to find an answer. I have an NAS version of RAVE as only ever owned V8 Discoveries or V6 Freelanders. I now have a TD5 Discovery and cannot find a link to the TD5 engine RAVE manual anywhere. Could...

Ahhh the old Freelander clunking from the rear again...

Top strut mount all seems secure. There are 2 relays in that location that are meant to be mounted onto tabs on the bodywork but were hanging loose. Doubt it was them, but they are secured now. On to the exhaust and drive shafts next weekend.

Ahhh the old Freelander clunking from the rear again...

Thanks for the ideas. I know the subframe is tight as I checked for the captive nut issue that seems quite common on earlier ones. The exhaust is a good point. The rubbers are intact, but the OS one is certainly past its best and looks quite stretched. I will check the drive shafts as well, as...

Ahhh the old Freelander clunking from the rear again...

Ah well, I guess I have hit upon a brand new Hippo noise. As I investigate I will update in case anyone else comes across it.

Ahhh the old Freelander clunking from the rear again...

I have a 52 KV6 3 door. Been trying to trace a rear end clunk since last year when the rear shocks were replaced. The car has plenty of other little issues, and it is possible that the noise was developing before the shock change. Its the wife's daily driver (and she is oblivious to the noise...

L series diesel - Split second surging at any speed

Chrs Kizzeh That point is quite interesting, as the instrument pod current does that. Occassionally goes off and online line when hitting a bump, so something is probably loose. Will definitely check what has been mentioned so far.

L series diesel - Split second surging at any speed

Hi - haven't posted for a while, mainly because our 2 Freelanders have been running so well. Obviously a harbinger of doom as the Wife's L series has started to develop a few problems and now the clutch pedal has dropped to the floor never to be seen again!! Clutch means box out etc as the...

What have you done to your Freelander today

Yep, tyre wise, 235/55/17 Pirelli Scorpion STRs. They seem to do the job :)

What have you done to your Freelander today

Tyres on and tracking done on the L series. Drives like a totally different car now. Very pleased with it.

What have you done to your Freelander today

Above sounds like a good idea. Would like to see a thread on that. On the MOT and steering, I am with Mr Do on that. The 'good' MOT guys I use apply common sense as well as the VOSA rules. If they have the car up in the air and suspension at full extension to check all the stretchy bits, and...

What have you done to your Freelander today

Received a new set of tyres for the L series. Went for 235/55/17 Pirelli Scorpions after some soul searching. Just need to get them fitted and the tracking done and all should be good. Do like that L-Series. Might have to pitch it off the wife a bit more.

What have you done to your Freelander today

New drivers side engine mount on the L series, and a NS TRE. New tyres and tracking in the next week or so.

Noise from front end - poss suspension?

Had a chance to have a good look at it today. Inner track arm ends are fine. Tiny little noise coming from the area where the column enters the rack. Sounds like there might be a little bit of play in the pinion, but very very small. Forgot I only replaced the OS TRE as the boot was split...

Noise from front end - poss suspension?

Cheers m8y, thats very handy. I should be able to order the specific bushes from that. Assuming the lower engine mount is just a case of remove the old rubber inserts and press the new poly ones in. Is there any experience of getting track arm inner bushes? I have not had a look at how they...

What have you done to your Freelander today

Got the other back tyre sorted. Proud owner of a new wheel lock key courtesy of Marshalls in Cambridge. Tomorrow the front ones and all is well.

Noise from front end - poss suspension?

So having bought myself a 52 plate K series GS 3 door and been driving that around for a while, I got back into the wife's 2000 W diesel today (the one this thread relates to for solved front end clunks), and it feels loose and noisy at the front end again, especially when compared to my K...
