"Some problems" ?? Engine is just a piece of sh.. and in the end of 2007 there isnt any effectively solution. How about transmission, IRD, VC, rear Diff ? Clutch ? Sunroof ? Rear glass? Heater matrix ? Give me a break. The whole freelander project is a crap design just to sell "cheap" parts...

    AFF Sake - more problems!

If you do scrap the gearbox and ird, drain oils etc for replacing just the disk then it will be tosh to leave the old plate and bearing for another time. Plus it is a freelander sooner or later they will fail too. Hydraulics are also expendable.

    Head Gasket Failure

I wonder how on earth LR is still not able to give an effective solution for thousands of tortured owners of bloody K series freelander around the world. I live thousand miles away from UK and every single car owner i know cross his fingers when listens the words: LR-Free..... plus the resale...

    Head Gasket Failure

It was really easy to lift the liners out.. The hardest thing was to clean well enough the bottom of the engine block for resealing the liners and let them bond for a day before engine reassembly. We use a Hylomar engine block sealant.

    Head Gasket Failure

When i had my last hgf i put that new MLS gasket and also new head and bolts and the most important thing: resealed the liners in the block using a specific sealant. Liners were all in the same height as the book says but when the engine was hot 2 of them was dancing! It was very hard to...

    Sometimes on full lock

Does anyone know what is the correct distance between the top side (rubber) of the rear diff mountings and the floor? I thought the rubber side of the 2 rear ones should contact the floor but i noticed that they've about an inch empty space. Is this normal?

    Engine Tapping

Some people use pure diesel for engine flush. They run at idle revs for a couple of minutes before change the oil. BTW the right type of engine oil is very important in this case.

    Sometimes on full lock

My sense is the noise coming from the middle of the floor but I will try to reproduce it to be sure. It doesnt sound like a cv joint clicks; its really louder like a machine gun and its intermittent.

    Sometimes on full lock

Well as i told above im on my second VC and IRD. Swapped both on last year. Checked the vc with the classic ashcroft way: rear wheel up, choked the front ones, handbrake off and the rear wheel moving slowly as it should. I also replaced the vc bearings and of course 2 or 3 times the front rear...

    Sometimes on full lock

I know about these threads. Doesnt sound like a knocking or banging noise from front, back, under bonnet or somewhere else. VC & ird are brand new; maybe its something foxy. chassis related or something like that ?
