As i said...if your a bit of a bodger. You have to take out the driveline, bearings etc and start again if, like me you want an overland vehicle that wont break down at the slightest bit of offroad action. Landrover updated gearboxes and everything else for a reason.

Huddle, By vents do you mean the two flaps at the front or vent ducting from the heating/cooling fan ? Cheers all for suggestions...by the looks of things I am not using any oil of significant amount which is nice.

oops my bad....i seem to have done a bad reading. Put the dip stick in and out(didnt start engine for a day) and its full.(only put a bit in last time as ran out of oil). I do remember dunking the dip stick loads of times....should i wait for half an hour or so after stopping the engine ? steve

There is an oil vapour from within the cab...thought that was normal for a land rover lol I take it that is "normal" and cant be rectified ? steve

Have a strange problem, I think :) Doing the normal checks oil,water etc I find the oil well below low and water about three quarters of a liter from full. Probably done well less than a couple of hundred miles (can't be sure as not clocked milage). But the exhaust smoke is normal and nothing...

Why is it bollox......if i wanted to put a ****ty 200tdi in my 110, then i would have purchased a 200tdi in the first place. And if you put a more powerful engine in system that has, for decades, had lower horsepower then you are going to get problems. You dont just replace the 2.5 n/a, you...

When you start putting a 111-130 bhp engine in a system that is probably old, and a bit knackered its not just the engine you have to then worry about...its everything that is connected to it :)

Hello, i have aa ex mod ffr 2.5 na and would like to know if i have the 12j or 19 j. Where do i look on the engine(it is one that was part of the mod updates) and does any one have a photo of exactly where is should look. If it is a 19j engine block, does it mean that i have the hardened...

Hello all, i managed to snap the "bung" in the sediment collecter thingie ma bob by the fuel tank. Do i have to buy a complete unit or can i order just the bung. If so is there an order number for the bung or the whole unit ? Thanks, steve.

Just to let you guys know... The recon engines for sale with withams are re manufactured by a company called Wealdstone Engineering Ltd who in turn were acquired by caterpillar Remanufacturing Services. So i recon they should be just fine and dandy....unless anyone on here knows different :D
