    Yep, I'm in the AA & that was going to be my last resort if I can't get it open by tomorrow night. Not sure they'd come out though as it's not actually a 'breakdown' as such - it doesn't prevent me driving the vehichle - I just can't get the BLOODY bonnet open .

    my 2001 TD5 ES takes about 8-10 mins in current cold weather - real pain cus it only takes me 5 mins to drive to work ! thank god ( or landrover )for heated seats :D:D

    at the end of the day all you need to do is stop all the dirty air coming out of the exhaust manifold going back into the engine - this is done simply & quickly by fitting the blanking plate - also a good idea to clean out the mass air flow sensor behind the air filter & clean out the inlet...
